In the case of flight cancellation passengers have the right to compensation on the same basis as the related flight delays. So they are entitled to compensation in the amount of 250 EUR to 600 EUR (depending on the distance between airports).

Compensation is not payable only if the trip cancellation is the result of exceptional circumstances, and when the passenger has been informed of its cancellation:

• at least 14 days before the scheduled date of departure,

• 14 - 7 days before the scheduled time of departure and the substitute flight is no earlier than 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of the cancelled trip and it arrives to the port of destination no later than 4 hours after the scheduled arrival time of the canceled trip,

• less than 7 days before the scheduled date of departure, and the substitute flight is no earlier than 1 hour before the scheduled departure time of the cancelled trip and it arrives at the port of destination not later than 2 hours after the scheduled arrival time of the cancelled trip
